Worcester, Mass. (October 16)
 — The Assumption College Department of Athletics has announced its Assumption College Male and Female Athletes of the Week for their performances during the week ending on Oct. 13. Each week, the department will be honoring two athletes for their outstanding accomplishments during the previous week of competition.

Earning Female Athlete of the Week honors is freshman women’s tennis player Hannah Riley (Ellington, Conn./Ellington) after capturing Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week honors for her play in a win at Saint Rose. Picking up two points in the 8-1 win, she earned her first point at No. 1 doubles in an 8-4 victory while paired with Cassy Waung. Riley capped off the performance with a dominating 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles to lead the Hounds to the easy victory over the Golden Knights.

The Male Athlete of the Week is senior football kicker Tad Beuchert (Danvers, Mass./St. John’s Prep), who becomes the first two-time winner of the award this season.  Accounting for 11 points in Assumption’s road win at Saint Anselm, Beuchert earned Northeast-10 Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for the third time in his career. He converted all five extra-point tries and both field goals in the win. His second field goal came from 48 yards out, which is a career-long for Beuchert and also the longest in the Northeast-10 this season. He now has three field goals of 40+ yards this season.
