Ellington Holds Off Rockville

After a close start to the game, the Knights boys' lacrosse team pulled away from the Rams for the victory.

The boys' lacrosse game between and started off close, but the visiting Knights pulled away in the second half for an 11-5 victory.

After the first quarter, Rockville led 4-3 - powered by three goals by JR Piretti. Ellington led 5-4 at the half and then went up 11-5 after the third and held on.

The leading scorer for Ellington was Brian Borbas with four goals. Connor Defemia and Lucas Horvath each added two goals for the Knights. Defemia had two assists and Horvath one.

Kevin Vincens and Aaron Daley each added a goal and an assist for Ellington. Zack Palmer had a goal and Bob Herold and Logan Marcus each had assists.

Piretti finished the day with four goals. Mike Garrett had a goal and an assist for Rockville.

Angus Deane had two assists and Ryan Schmidt and Matt Tracy each had an assist for the Rams.

Adam Graham made 16 saves for Rockville.

This was the final regular season game for Ellington (8-8). Rockville (2-13) finishes the season at Newington on Thursday.
