Ellington High School Student Named Finalist in National History Day Contest

The competition took place June 10-13.

Erin McGrath, a student at Ellington High School, was recently named a finalist at the National History Day Contest at the University of Maryland in College Park.

McGrath was recognized for her performance Street Smarts: The World Thanks to Sesame Street.

She competed with more than 2,700 students from across the country for the honor.

“All of the students who have participated in History Day have worked hard, learned a lot, and made Connecticut proud," Taber Conover, head of public programs and History Day for Connecticut’s Old State House, said in a prepared statement.
