Ellington Community Scholarship Association Awards $50,600

Scholarships were given to 55 graduating Ellington High School students.

The Ellington Community Scholarship Association awarded $50,600 in scholarships at the annual ECSA Scholarship Awards Night on June 4 in the Gordon C. Getchell auditorium at . 

The awards were distributed to 55 graduating seniors who are pursuing their post-secondary education. The scholarships ranged from $600 to $4,500.

This is ECSA’s 53rd year of serving the students of Ellington, being in existence since 1959 when students canvassed the town door-to-door for donations. The organization currently relies on an annual as its primary source of funds as well as the investment earnings of the permanent funds it manages. ECSA’s permanent fund program currently has 21 funds.

ECSA is an active member of the New England Dollars for Scholars, and as such, is part of a national network of over 1,200 non-profit scholarship foundations that raise funds and provide financial and academic support to local students.
