Ellington Closes Season With a Win

The Ellington High School girls basketball team finished the regular season with a victory over Enfield.

The girls basketball team capped off a stellar regular season with a 48-20 victory over visiting Enfield.

Kelly Conley and Julie Gage each had 10 points for the Knights. Conley added seven assists and Gage 10 rebounds.

Karlee Alves scored eight points, Devonney Waters six, and Claudia Perez five for Ellington (16-3).

Enfield (0-19) was led by Rachel Kaliff with nine points and Summer Smith with eight.

Ellington honored two seniors, Gage and Perez, for senior night.

Ellington will hold the No. 2 ranking in NCCC tourney and will hold the No. 4 seed in Class M State Tournament.

On Monday, the NCCC tournament will begin.

No. 5 Coventry will take on No. 4 East Granby at 4:30 p.m. No. 8 Granby will take on No. 1 Avon at 6 p.m. Those games will be held at Avon.

No. 6 Canton will take on No. 3 Suffield at 5 p.m. and No. 7 Windsor Locks will take on No. 2 Ellington at 7 p.m. Those games will take place at Ellington.
