College Graduate From Ellington Receives Scholar Awards

Lauren M. Silvis of Ellington received the Outstanding Student in Marketing Communication/Advertising Award and the Dean's Award during Baccalaureate ceremonies at Western New England University. 

The Dean's Award is granted to the graduating senior with the highest grade-point-average within the College of Business, while the Outstanding Student in Marketing Communication/Advertising Award is given to a graduating senior selected by the faculty for excellence in the study of Marketing Communication/Advertising.

Silvis graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She is a member of the Alpha Mu Alpha and Alpha Lambda Delta honor societies, and served as Chapter President of the Beta Gamma Sigma business honor society. 

While at Western New England University, Silvis served on the Senior Council and was a member of the Marketing Association and the Collegiate Chapter of the American Marketing Association. She has also spent time volunteering at the Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center, the Johnson Memorial Hospital, and the Phoenix Community Cancer Center.
