Somers Board of Selectmen to Discuss Solar Energy

Solar panels are just one thing on the agenda for the special Board of Selectmen meeting on Wednesday.

On Wednesday night at 6 p.m. in the Somers Town Hall, there will be a special meeting of the Board of Selectmen to discuss potential green energy sources - as well as other things.

The meeting will take place in the Selectmen's Conference Room and the public is invited to attend.

Representatives from DBS Energy, the same company who did the solar panels on the , will be on hand to answer questions and discuss the possibilities for the town.

The proposed solar panels would go on the town garage and the .

It also wouldn't cost the town anything to do this project.

"It's not like a grant - it's an energy thing so it's not going to cost anything to get into it and do it," Operations Manager Doug Minich said.

At the meeting, there will also be an update on Sunshine Farms Drive, a storm update, and an update on the budget.
