CT Green Party Nominating Meeting

The New London Green Party is hosting a nominating meeting on Saturday for the purpose of endorsing a Green Party candidate to run in this year's 2nd Congressional District race.

The Green Party secured ballot access in the 2nd district when retired environmental analyst G. Scott Deshefy petitioned onto the ballot and finished a strong third in 2008. The party continues to offer solutions to the persistent problems of joblessness, health care inequities, environmental degradation and corporate influence in policymaking.

The meeting is open to the publlc. All registered Green Party members who reside in the district are eligible to vote for this year's candidate. 

The Green Party is committed to grassroots democracy, social and economic justice, sustainability, and nonviolence. Due to their firm belief that government should be accountable to its citizens, Green Party candidates do not accept contributions from corporations, lobbyists or political action committees.
