Ellington Holds Voter Registration Sessions

Do you still need to register for the upcoming election?

The Ellington Registrar of Voters will hold a voter registration session on Saturday, October 22, 2011 for those residents who are currently not registered voters and wish to vote in the November 8, 2011 Municipal Election. The session will take place at both , 55 Main Street and , 93 Main Street from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM.

The last day to register in person for the 2011 Municipal Election is November 1, 2011. The Registrar’s Office at  Ellington Town Hall will be open that day from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Eligible voters must be citizens of the United States, residents of their town and 18 years of age. Residents may also register anytime before November 1 during regular business hours at the Register of Voters office or the Town Clerk’s Office. Mail in applications must be post-marked by October 25th. Applications can be downloaded from www.sots.state.ct.us.

For residents who obtain eligibility after the November 1 deadline (turn 18, new residents to Ellington or obtain US citizenship) an additional special voter registration will take place on November 7, 2011 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon in the Registrar’s Office, Ellington Town Hall, 55 Main Street. Registration must be in person with documentation proving eligibility after the November 1 deadline.
