Ellington, Somers Support Romney

The votes were overwhelmingly in favor of the frontrunner.

In both Ellington and Somers, the voters have chosen Mitt Romney as the man they would like to see challenge Barack Obama.

In Ellington, 17 percent of Republican voters came out and showed their support for Romney. There were 236 votes for Romney, 48 for Newt Gingrich, 42 for Ron Paul, 32 for Rick Santorum, and five were uncommitted.

In Somers, 16 percent of the Republican voters came out and also showed their support for Romney. There were 176 votes for Romney, while his nearest competitor, Gingrich, had 28 votes. Paul received 26 votes and Santorum 22. Four were uncommitted.

On this night, Romney won five Northeast states - Connecticut, Delaware, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, and New York.
