Ellington Selectwoman Resigns Her Position

Rachel Wheeler-Rossow had served since December 2011 and was recently replaced by Ted Graziani.

Ellington Selectwoman Rachel Wheeler-Rossow has resigned her position, effective April 17.

Wheeler-Rossow, a Democrat, had served on the Board of Selectmen since December 2011, and was also on various subcommittees of the Board of Selectmen. She was replaced by Ted Graziani, who was sworn in on April 17.

Prior to serving on the Board of Selectmen, Wheeler-Rossow was a member of the Board of Education.

Wheeler-Rossow was called "a tireless individual who has given a great deal of time and energy to her commitments as not only a selectman, but also in her personal life."

Graziani joins the board bringing vast experience - which includes serving previously on the Board of Selectman as well as various other town committees. Graziani also served as a State Representative for 12 years.

In addition, he is a Vietnam Veteran and has a long and distinguished record of association with numerous Veterans organization as well as community volunteer organizations.

The Connecticut Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense agency, recently appointed Graziani as the chairman for the State of Connecticut to serve a 3-year appointment.

Graziani has been employed with Hamilton-Sundstrand for over 20 years.
