Ellington Puts Out Information After Hurricane Sandy

The town has released some information regarding the Emergency Operations Center, the election, and upcoming events.

The Ellington Emergency Operation Center (EOC) is open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Oct. 31. Call 860-870-3182 if you require assistance. Residents who are experiencing power outages are encouraged to contact CL&P directly.

Election

Monday, Governor Malloy signed Executive Order 21 which extended the in-person voter registration deadline in Connecticut to Thursday, Nov. 1 at 8 p.m. The Registrars' Office (located on the lower level of Town Hall) will be open on Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. If you have any questions call 860-870-3107.

Absentee Ballot Voting

Due to the storm, the Town Clerk's Office will be open this Thursday, Nov. 1 until 8 p.m. for anyone who needs to vote by absentee ballot. Please have your photo ID with you. If you have any questions call 860-870-3105. 

Trash collection

Is on a one-day delay schedule for the remainder of the week. Normal collection schedule will resume on Monday, Nov. 5. If you have any questions call 860-870-3140.

Special Hours for the Hoffman Road Brush Drop Off Area:
Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 1-4 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 1 from 1-4 p.m.
Friday, Nov. 2 from 1-4 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 3 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Personal property tax declarations

Personal property tax declarations filed by businesses in Connecticut have been extended to Thursday, Nov. 15, per Governor Malloy's Executive Order 24. If you have any questions call 860-870-3109.

The Friends of the Library Book Sale
