Troop C Police Blotter - Week Ending Sept. 13, 2013

The latest arrests relating to Ellington, Somers and other surrounding towns.

Arrest information is furnished by the state police Troop C barracks and does not indicate a conviction. 

Ellington

Sept. 11

As part of an Aug. 8 burglary investigation, Jordan Harris, 22, was taken into custody, state police said.

He lives at 60 Pinney St., state police said.

State police said he was charged with the illegal sale of a controlled substance, narcotics possession, third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, shoplifting (fourth-degree larceny) and simple trespass.

Vernon

Sept. 6

Nicole Sherman, 22, of 119 Terrace Dr., Vernon, surrendered at Troop C to face a second-degree failure to appear charge, state police said. 

Sept. 8

At 2:14 a.m. on an I-84 exit 67 ramp, David Blinn, 31, of 311 Mile Hill Rd., Tolland, was observed driving erratically and failed a series of field sobriety tests, state police said.

He was charged with DUI, operating at too slow a speed, disobeying the signal of an officer, and a lane violation, state police said.

Somers

Sept. 6

Jonathan Ramzell, 33, of Stafford, was charged with DUI and improper parking, state police said.  

While investigating a report of a suspicious vehicle ion Brace Road, troopers found a pickup truck stopped at a stoop sign with Ramzell sleeping at the wheel, state police said. He failed a series of field sobriety tests, state police said. 

Kristopher Johnson, 33. was charged with an insurance violation, a license/registration violation and evading in connection with an crash in August, state police said.

He was located on Main Street, state police said.

Mansfield 

Sept. 6

Emmanuel Fuller Hilding-salario, 23, of 17 Southwood Rd., Mansfield, was charged with speeding, DUI and failure to drive right, state police said.

He was observed driving erratically on North Eagleville Road at 12:35 a.m., state police said.

Sept. 7

State police are investigating the theft of a 5-by-8-foot trailer from a residence on Stafford Road.

Colton Simmons, 26, of Stafford, was charged with DUI, a lane violation and  making an improper turn at 2:34 a.m., state police said.

He was observed driving erratically, state police said.

At 12:14 a.m. on Route 44, Michael Collier, 34, was stopped by a traffic enforcement detail and charged with DUI and a registration violation, state police said.

He lives at  548 Bolton Road, state police said.

Scott Hair, 42, of Chaplin, was charged with third-degree burglary from a motor vehicle, second-degree criminal mischief, sixth-degree larceny from a motor vehicle and credit card theft at 12:42 p.m., state police said.

Hair is accused of breaking his way into a vehicle parked an unattended in a community parking lot designated for recreational use on the dead end portion of N Windham Road, state police said.

Sept. 8

Adam Wisnesky, 21, of 4 Wilson Court, Enfield, was charged with interfering at 12:36 a.m., state police said.

He was observed on the westbound shoulder of Separatist Road carrying a large bottle of Jack Daniel's whiskey, state police said. When a trooper approached him, he fled on foot, state police said. He was chanced down on foot, state police said.

Sept. 10

Christopher Blanchette, 47, of 91 Chaffeville Rd., Mansfield, was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct at11:33 p.m., state police said.

It was part of a domestic response after troopers received a 911 hang-up call, state police said. 

Tolland

Sept. 7

At 11:24 a.m. on Tolland Stage Road, Patricia Brown, 50, of 136 Stafford Rd., Ellington, was charged with interfering, state police said.

A trooper was conducting a traffic stop after an "older white station wagon"  failed to stop at a stop sign at routes 74 and 195, state police said. The car pulled into the parking lot of a nearby plaza, state police said.

State police said the driver apologized and handed over his paperwork, state police said. At that time, Brown, the driver's mom, approached the driver's side of the vehicle and caused a disturbance, state police said.

The driver, Stephen Brown, then asked to use the bathroom and went into a hardware store, state police said. The trooper then discovered two outstanding warrants against Stephen Brown and he was located in the store rest room, having just used heroin and discarding the needles, state police said.

He was charged with with drug possession and charged for the warrants, state police said.
