Troop C Police Blotter — Arrests Ending Oct. 11, 2013

The latest arrests relating to Ellington, Somers and other surrounding towns.

Arrest information is furnished by the State Police Troop C barracks and does not indicate a conviction. 

Ellington

Oct. 7

State police are investigating a hit-and-run in Ellington that happened on Oct. 7. Police said a 2011 Chevrolet Express was parked in the private driveway of a home at 270 Somers Road, also known as Cider Mill Road. An unknown car struck the Express in the right front quarter panel area and failed to notify the owner of the damage. The second vehicle fled the scene.

Oct. 8

Amy Cabral, 42, 1 Maple St., Apt. #5, Ellington, was charged with interfering with an officer and a breach of peace after police said they were called to assist a social worker for the Department of Children and Families in an exchange of custody case at Cabral’s home on Oct. 8. While conducting the exchange Cabral, the mother of the child, interfered and refused to tell the authorities of the child’s location. She then became combative, police said. Cabral was taken into custody and held on a $1,500 bond. She is due in Rockville Superior Court on Oct. 16.

Somers

Oct. 9

Joseph M. Baudin, 50, 109 Michele Drive, Somers, was charged with a criminal violation of a protective order on Oct. 9. Police said he violated a protective order by visiting his ex-girlfriend at her home in Somers. He was held on a $10,000 bond and was due in Rockville Superior Court on Oct. 10.

Mansfield

Oct. 7

Paul Granberg, 77, 602 Lainey Lane, Danielson, was charged with a breach of peace and ridicule on account of race, creed or color after police said he turned himself in after learning there was a warrant for his arrest on Oct. 7. Police said the charges stem from an incident on Aug. 2 on Route 195 in Mansfield. Granberg is due in Rockville Superior Court on Oct. 15.

Oct. 8

Alyssa M. Chase, 20, 31 Pennywood Lane, Willimantic, was charged with sixth-degree shoplifting after police responded to the Kohl’s department store at 95 Storrs Road in Mansfield on Oct. 8. Chase was issued a misdemeanor summons and was released on a promise to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Oct. 21.

Oct. 10

Robert J. Livsley, 35, 45 Babcock Hill Road, South Windham, was charged with sixth-degree larceny stemming from an incident on Storrs Road in Mansfield on May 17. Livsley was taken into custody from Robinson Correctional Institute, where he was being held on different charges, on Oct. 10. He appeared in Rockville Superior Court that day and was placed on a $2,500 bond.

Megan E. Chague, 28, 336 Jeffrey Road, Windham, was charged with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and threatening after police said she was involved in a domestic incident at her sister’s home in Windham on Oct. 10. Chague was held on a $1,500 bond and was scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Oct. 11.

Police are investigating a reported burglary at Park Avenue Jewelry located at the East Brook Mall on 95 Storrs Road in Mansfield. On Oct. 10, a man smashed the glass kiosk and stole items from the location. A total theft amount has not been determined, however police said he left the scene with a large quantity of necklaces, bracelets and earrings.  The suspect is described as a male, black or Hispanic, 6’ tall, wearing a white T-shirt, jeans and a backpack. He was last seen running west, toward Ledgebrook Drive.

Stafford

Oct. 7

Joseph T. Bombardier, 30, 34 Carol Drive, Manchester, was charged with third-degree larceny and third-degree criminal mischief after police said he stole an ATM from the Roaring Brook Campground located at 8 South Road in Stafford. The theft happened between the hours of 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 17 and 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 13. Bombardier turned himself in to the State Police Troop C barracks in Tolland on Oct. 7 and was held on a $25,000 bond. He was scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Oct. 7.
