Police say Man Accused of Financial Wrongdoing at UConn has Extensive Local Record

Many cases involve prescription fraud, records indicate.

A Vernon man accused of shady financial dealings out of the University of Connecticut's financial aid office already has a criminal record locally, police records indicate.

He also has a long list of violations out of several towns, judicial system records show.

He has arrested twice recently in Vernon.

On Sept. 3, he was charged with criminal impersonation and obtaining drug illegally, police said. As an employee of a doctor's office in Ellington, he allegedly misrepresented himself in order to pass phony prescriptions at the Price Chopper and one of the Vernon CVS locations, police said.

On May 21, he was charged with driving under the influence, police said.

Both cases are pending, according to judicial system records.

He has nine outstanding cases in all for drug fraud and DUI out of Vernon, South Windsor and Bloomfield, according to judicial system records.
