OMG PD: Week Ending Oct. 16, 2011

A look at some remarkable police cases from Connecticut.

The Case: A Manchester man was arrested after his wife got into an altercation with their neighbor.

The OMG PD Twist: Michael Grimes came to the defense of his wife - with a baseball bat. He  and threatened to kill the neighbor while doing so. He was charged with disorderly conduct, second-degree threatening and carrying a dangerous or prohibited weapon. His wife, Arline Grimes, was charged with breach of peace. The couple is also facing fraud and bad check charges stemming from an incident with Michael Grimes' employer earlier this year.

The Case: An East Harford man was arrested for breach of peace and risk of injury to a minor.

The OMG PD Twist: Joshua Alan Francoeur who passed by his porch while he was drunk.

The Case: A man was charged with second-degree breach of peace at the shopping plaza at 458 Talcottville Rd. in Vernon.

The OMG PD Twist: Thomas Lappen was on the hood of his truck. Lappen is a former employee of a business in the plaza and was allegedly upset about the treatment of his mother there.

The Case: A Vernon man was charged with second degree breach of peace when he became upset while a real estate agent who was trying to show a house.

The OMG PD Twist: David Maselek rents a room at the residence and was and those looking at the house. He pulled the real estate sign out of the lawn and was swinging it around. He then argued with a roommate and pushed the roommate

The Case: A Fairfield man was arrested for allegedly  – well, his soon-to-be ex-wife’s house.  

The OMG PD Twist: Michael Carafotes then tried to feign sleep as police came to check on the situation and told them he had been locked out and had to break his way in. That’s not what his wife had to say.
