Man Receives Prison Time for Ellington Home Invasion

According to the Hartford Courant, Raul Diaz received 25 years for the October 2011 incident.

According to the Hartford Courant, Raul Diaz pleaded guilty and received 25 years in prison for an incident where he beat up a 77-year-old Ellington man - amongst other things.

The multi-town incident began in October 2011 as a burglary in Enfield, continued as a hit-and-run in Somers, escalated into the assault on Wilhelm Frederick, and ended with a crash in an Ellington front yard.

At the time, Diaz, then 40, of 185 Hungerford St. in Hartford, was charged with home invasion, second degree assault of an elderly person, second degree assault, first degree robbery, first degree burglary, third degree criminal mischief, and third degree larceny. Bond was $1,000,000 cash.
