Local State Trooper Injured in Accident

Trooper Joseph Strogoff was involved in a car accident in Mansfield on Thursday evening.

Trooper Joseph Strogoff, known to many for his actions after an , was injured in his own accident on Thursday evening.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., was traveling east in his police cruiser on Route 275 in Mansfield. Another vehicle was stopped facing west, and was going to make a left turn. A third vehicle was traveling west and struck the second vehicle in the rear.

The collision caused the second vehicle to travel west and into the eastbound lane, striking Strogoff’s cruiser.

Strogoff, the driver of the second vehicle, two passengers from that vehicle, and the driver of the third vehicle were transported to Windham Hospital for various injuries.

One passenger from the second vehicle was flown via LifeStar helicopter to Hartford Hospital for serious injuries.
