Enfield Officer from Somers Charged With DUI in Massachusetts

Patrolman Thomas Chagnon allegedly had a child in his car when he was pulled over early Sunday morning.

An Enfield police officer from Somers was arrested on the Mass Turnpike early Sunday morning and charged with drunken driving with a child in the car, according to a report on MassLive.com.

Thomas Chagnon, 45, was charged just after midnight Sunday with drunken driving, child endangerment, speeding, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and possession of an open container of alcohol, according to Massachusetts State Police.

The age of the child in the car was not released, and Chagnon was arraigned Monday in Worcester District Court.

Deputy Chief Gary Collins of the Enfield Police Department said there would be a full investigation by his department.
