Ellington-Somers Police Blotter: Sept. 28-Oct. 4

The following arrest reports, provided by Connecticut State Police, are accurate as of Oct. 5, 2012. Items on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

Sept. 29

Andrew White, 19, of 41 White Oak Rd. in Somers was charged with fifth-degree larceny and disorderly conduct. He locked the complainant out of his own home and stole approximately $300 worth of jewelry from the Field Road home after being allowed in to use the bathroom. White later returned the jewelry after being questioned about it and feeling guilty for stealing from a friend.

Rodney E. Spittle, 37, of 64 Main St., Apt. E in Somers, was charged with risk of injury to a child and disorderly conduct after he grabbed an 11-year-old girl during an altercation. The girl did not require medical treatment as a result of this incident and Spittle was arrested without incident at his residence.

Oct. 1

The Ellington Resident State Trooper’s Office is investigating an attempted burglary into a residence on Gem Drive in Ellington. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact State Police Trooper Jacob Bissaillon at 860-875-1522. 

Oct. 4

Troopers were dispatched to Maple Street by Main Street in Ellington for a car versus pole accident. Subsequent investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling east on Maple Street when the operator lost control and collided head on with a utility pole. The operator, a 23-year-old Manchester man, stated that his vehicle lost traction on the wet road. No injuries were reported and the man was issued an infraction for traveling too fast for conditions.
