Ellington-Somers Police Blotter: Nov. 18-Nov. 24

The following arrest reports, provided by Connecticut State Police, are accurate as of Nov. 25, 2011. Items on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

Nov. 21 

A 16-year-old Ellington boy was traveling south on Rt. 83 in Ellington directly behind another vehicle. The vehicle in front of the boy came to a stop in the roadway for an unknown reason and he struck the vehicle from behind. There were no injuries reported as a result of the accident. The vehicle that was struck and its operator evaded from the scene of the accident prior to police arrival.

State police are investigating a late reported domestic violence incident that occurred on Bridge Street in Ellington.

A 17-year-old Somers boy was traveling eastbound on Route 190 at the intersection of Hall Hill Road in Somers. He crossed over the opposing travel lane, entered onto the soft shoulder of the westbound travel lane, where the vehicle collided with a utility pole, attached guide wire, and two highway sign posts. The boy reported no injuries at the scene and was observed outside the vehicle upon the trooper's arrival at the scene. He was issued a complaint ticket for failure to maintain proper lane. 

Nov. 24

Zachary S. Barrepski, 21, of 8 Gabriel Dr. in Ellington, was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol and failure to drive in the proper lane after he was observed operating his vehicle erratically on Rt. 190 in Somers. After a thorough investigation, Barrepski was taken into custody. He was released from custody on a $500 non-surety bond.
