Ellington-Somers Police Blotter: May 13-May 19

May 13

David J. Couturier, 42, of 1 Dogwood Ln. in Ellington, was charged with illegal operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, illegal operation of a motor vehicle without minimum insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and traveling unreasonably fast. He was arrested after being stopped for operating an unregistered Polaris ATV and traveling at 52 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone. When stopped, Couturier smelled of alcohol so he was field sobriety tested and arrested. He had a 16 year-old passenger with him.

At approximately 11:15 p.m., troopers were dispatched to 112 West Rd. in Ellington to investigate a burglary in which a male and female complainant reported that cash, jewelry, and two cameras were missing from their apartment and were believed to be stolen. The complainants reported that there did not appear to be a forced entry made to gain entry into their apartment. This case will remain open and under investigation.

Philip Godeck, 45, of 20 Lindsay Ln. in Broad Brook, was charged with DWI, illegal operation of a motor vehicle while under suspension, evading, and making an improper turn after he into a home on West Rd. in Ellington.

May 18

Remington J. Ewald, 19, of 55 School St. in Vernon, surrendered himself at Troop C in Tolland on a warrant for his arrest. He is charged with third degree larceny and third degree forgery for an incident that occurred on Rothe Ln. in Ellington.
