Ellington-Somers Police Blotter: July 20-July 26

The following arrest reports, provided by Connecticut State Police, are accurate as of July 27, 2012. Items on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

July 21

At approximately 3:54 p.m., troopers were dispatched to Strawberry Road in Ellington for a larceny of two CT registration plates. Subsequent investigation revealed the plates were stolen from a vehicle parked in the between 9:30 p.m. on July 20 and 3:30 p.m. on July 21. Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Rua at Troop C in Tolland at 860-896-3200.

Kevin J. Golas, 20, of 31 Stardust Dr. in Enfield, was arrested by state police in Somers, stemming from an incident where he fled from troopers and fled the scene of a motor vehicle accident. He was charged with reckless driving, disobeying an officer's signal, a stop sign violation, and first-degree reckless endangerment.

Darren Richard Blanchard, 28, of 27 Grace Dr. in Somers, was charged after during the course of a motor vehicle stop, he submitted to field sobriety tests in which he failed. Blanchard was arrested for DUI and failure to stop at a stop sign. A $500 non-surety bond was set by Sgt. Ryan and Blanchard was released. The vehicle was towed by .

July 25

Maryann Libby, 42, of 79 West Shore Rd. in Ellington, is facing multiple charges. She was arrested and transported to Troop C where she was processed for the. Libby was issued a court date of Aug. 13 at Rockville Superior Court for the charge of second-degree failure to appear. At that time, she will also face a charge of operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Libby was also issued a court date of Aug. 8 at New Britain Superior Court for the charge of second-degree failure to appear.
