Ellington-Somers Police Blotter: July 13-July 19

The following arrest reports, provided by Connecticut State Police, are accurate as of July 20, 2012. Items on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

July 16

Dustin Luginbuhl, 18, of 18 Brockway Rd. in Ellington, was charged after during the course of a motor vehicle stop in Tolland, he was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. He was subjected to a series of field sobriety tests that he failed at which time he was arrested. Luginbuhl was transported to Troop C Tolland where he was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol, failure to obey a stop sign, operating a motor vehicle without a license, and illegal purchase of liquor by a minor. He was processed according to state police policy and was held on a $1,000 non-surety bond and later released.

July 17

Stephen W. Babij, 35, of 76 Rose Haven Rd. in Somers, was charged after troopers served a Habeas arrest warrant for an incident on West Road in Ellington for sixth-degree larceny, third-degree burglary, and operating a motor vehicle with registration or license suspended. Babij had an $8,000 court set bond and was presented on July 17 at Rockville Superior Court.

July 18

Kristopher G. Hansen, 50, of 17 Regan St., Apt. 93 in Vernon, was charged after troopers responded to the Ellington for a report of shoplifting. As a result of this investigation, Hansen was arrested and transported to Troop C where he was charged with sixth-degree larceny: shoplifting, was processed, and was given a Rockville Court Superior Court date. 

Victor Brennan, 55, of 11 Stafford Rd. in Ellington, was charged after troopers responded to his home for a domestic dispute. Prior to police arrival, Brennan left the residence on his motorcycle. A traffic stop was conducted and he was later arrested for DWI. Brennan was transported to Troop C where he was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol, was processed, and released with a Rockville Superior Court date.
