Ellington-Somers Police Blotter: Feb. 22-Feb. 28

The following arrest reports, provided by Connecticut State Police, are accurate as of March 1, 2013. Items on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

Feb. 23

Carolynn B. Vincenzo, 22, of 296 Ames Rd. in Hampden, MA, was arrested after a motor vehicle stop on 9th District Road in Somers. A face-to-face observation and interview with Vincenzo developed reasonable suspicion as to her impairment. She was subjected to a series of standardized field sobriety tests which she failed and was subjected to an in-custody arrest. Vincenzo was transported to Troop C where she was processed according to department policy. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and failure to drive right. Vincenzo was later released on a $500 cash bond and is scheduled to appear at Rockville Superior Court on March 11.

Feb. 24

A 48-year-old Rockville man was traveling eastbound on Route 30 in Ellington as another vehicle was exiting the driveway at 137 Stafford Rd. That driver failed to grant the right of way to traffic upon emerging from the driveway. As a result, the Rockville man struck the other vehicle in the left rear quarter panel and/or bumper. The vehicle that had exited the driveway subsequently headed westbound on Route 30 and evaded the scene. The Rockville man's vehicle came to a controlled final rest position on West Shore Road. Anyone with information is asked to contact State Police Troop C at 860-896-3200.

Feb. 28

State police responded to a larceny that occurred at the High Meadow Apartments located at 110 Jobs Hill Rd. in Ellington. This incident is currently under investigation.

Brian P. Hogan, 30, of 253 Moody Rd. in Enfield, was arrested after a motor vehicle stop on Route 190 in Somers. A face-to-face observation and interview with Hogan developed reasonable suspicion as to his impairment. He was subjected to a series of standardized field sobriety tests, which he failed and was subjected to an in-custody arrest. Hogan was transported to Troop C where he was processed according to department policy. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, failure to maintain lane, and operating unregistered motor vehicle. Hogan was held on a $1,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear at Rockville Superior Court on March 11.
