Ellington-Somers Police Blotter: Dec. 16-Dec. 22

The following arrest reports, provided by Connecticut State Police, are accurate as of Dec. 23, 2011. Items on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

Dec. 16

, 40, was transported from MacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution in Suffield to Rockville Superior Court so that an active arrest warrant could be served. A trooper placed Diaz under arrest on an active arrest warrant for and making a restricted turn. Diaz was processed and held on a $5,000 bond set by the court.

Kenneth W. Stavnitski, 39, of 43 Ellington Ave. in Ellington, was arrested on an arrest warrant application for risk of injury to a child, first degree arson, breach of peace: exhibit/distribute sex explicit material, and first degree reckless endangerment: intimidation intended. He was processed and held on a $50,000 court set bond.

Robert Zebrowski, 45, of 76 Bucks Xing in Rocky Hill, was arrested for operating under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, and failure to drive in the proper lane. During the course of a motor vehicle stop on Main Street at Sokol Road in Somers, Zebrowski was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. He was subjected to a series of field sobriety tests that he failed, at which time he was arrested. He was released on a $500 non-surety bond. 

Dec. 21

Matthew Joseph Frazier, 20, of 93 Sokol Rd. in Somers was arrested after a trooper was assigned to investigate a reported missing person complaint on Orcuttville Road in Stafford Springs. The complainant reported his 16-year-old daughter left the residence via an open bedroom window and that her whereabouts was unknown at the time. A thorough investigation into this reported incident led to the arrest of Frazier for violation of a protective order. Frazier was released from custody on a $500 non-surety bond. 

Dec. 22

A 46-year-old Vernon man was traveling westbound on Middle Road in Ellington when he looked away from the roadway to read a text message. He drifted into the right grassy shoulder and struck a utility pole. The vehicle overturned and came to a final uncontrolled rest on its roof off of the right shoulder. The man sustained minor injuries and was transported to Rockville General Hospital via .
