Ellington-Somers Police Blotter: Aug. 3-Aug. 9

The following arrest reports, provided by Connecticut State Police, are accurate as of Aug. 10, 2012. Items on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

Aug. 3

Jason A. Whiteloon-Keating, 26, of 3 Ridgeview Dr. in Ellington, turned himself in at Troop C in Tolland after being informed that he had an active PRAWN arrest warrant. He was taken into custody, charged with second-degree failure to appear, and was processed in accordance with Troop C procedures. Whiteloon-Keating was released on a $100 cash bond and assigned a court date of Aug. 15 at Rockville Superior Court.

A 48-year-old Ellington man was traveling eastbound on Frog Hollow Road approximately three tenths of a mile east of Crane Road in Ellington. He drifted off of the right shoulder, which caused his motorcycle to overturn and he was ejected. The man sustained minor injuries and the motorcycle was towed by Fox Hill Auto due to damage received in this collision.

A 42-year-old Somers man was traveling north on Pinney Street in Ellington. A 50-year-old Enfield woman was traveling south on Pinney Street in Ellington, directly behind an 81-year-old Rockville man. The Rockville man was traveling south on Pinney Street when he crossed the double yellow centerline in front of the Somers man. Contact was made between the two vehicles and the contact subsequently redirected the Rockville man's momentum and he made contact with the Enfield woman. Minor to severe damage was done to all vehicles. 

A one-car evading motor vehicle accident occurred on June 5 in the town of Ellington. A vehicle struck a stone wall in a parking lot and then evaded the scene. No injuries were reported.

Aug. 7

A 46-year-old Stafford Springs man was traveling east on Sandy Beach Road in Ellington. The man was traveling too fast to avoid a deer in the road and swerved off the roadway left. The vehicle went down embankment and came to rest. There was vehicle damage only and no injuries. The vehicle was towed by Furnace Brothers. 

A 20-year-old Somers man was traveling south on Hall Hill Road in Somers. The man changed the radio channel, hit the wire guardrail, and went down an embankment and struck a fence. He was not injured and the vehicle was towed by . 

Aug. 8

A 38-year-old Vernon woman was operating east on Route 140 in Ellington when she ran out of gas and pulled to right shoulder. The woman tried to push the car into private driveway, lost control, and was dragged by vehicle until it came to final uncontrolled rest against a field stone wall off right shoulder. 

William S. Snukis, 58, of 112 Rye Hill Cir. in Somers, was arrested after state police responded to a domestic disturbance occurring at a private residence. One of the involved parties, Snukis, refused to cooperate with state police after intentionally damaging shared property in the residence. He was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with interfering with an officer: non-assaultive and disorderly conduct: no fight/no threat/no obstructing.
