Ellington-Somers Police Blotter: Aug. 24-Aug. 30

The following arrest reports, provided by Connecticut State Police, are accurate as of Aug. 31, 2012. Items on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

Aug. 24

Zachary A. Seagrave, 18, of 42 McCullough Dr. in Somers, was charged with breach of peace and interfering after he used loud and abusive language when he was approached by management to leave the scene. Seagrave was initially uncooperative and provided false information to the trooper.

Matthew Joseph Frazier, 21, of 93 Sokol Rd. in Somers was charged with breach of peace and criminal violation of a protective order when the victim, a 17-year-old female, reported that Frazier followed her through a trail in woods in Stafford, attempting to talk to her, while she was walking home. There is a standing no contact order through the court and when the victim would not talk to Frazier, he pushed the victim on the ground. He was arrested without incident and was scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Aug. 27.

Troopers were dispatched to Route 83, in the area of Highland Road, in Ellington for a one-car motor vehicle accident into a pole. Subsequent investigation revealed that the operator, a 21-year-old Vernon woman, fell asleep behind the wheel while traveling south on Route 83, left the roadway and sideswiped a utility pole off the road shoulder. Minor damage was done to the base of the pole and severe damage was done to the motor vehicle. No injuries were reported. 

Aug. 27

The ’s Office is investigating a late reported physical altercation, which reportedly occurred on Aug. 26. It is under investigation. 

Steven M. Cusson, 25, of 5 Middle Butcher Rd. in Ellington, was charged with disorderly conduct, third-degree assault, and third-degree strangulation following a domestic incident that occurred in the town of Ellington. He was transported to Troop C where he was issued a court date of Aug. 27.

Aug. 29

Randy L. Plaut, 54, of 39 Webster Rd. in Ellington, and Charles Hampton, age not given, of 12 Gold St. in Stafford, were both arrested on a road rage/motor vehicle incident.
