Ellington-Somers Police Blotter: Aug. 19-Aug. 25

The following reports, provided by Connecticut State Police, are accurate as of Aug. 26, 2011.

Aug. 20

A 55-year-old Somers man was traveling northbound on Jobs Hill Road, approximately a quarter mile south of Muddy Brook Road, in Ellington when he traveled off the right shoulder and struck a telephone pole. The man sustained injuries to his head and chest and was transported to Hartford Hospital by for medical treatment. The vehicle sustained heavy damage.

A 46-year-old Somers woman had her car parked at the west end of the parking lot at the store on Main Street in Somers. An unknown vehicle struck the right front of her vehicle, causing moderate damage. This is an open investigation.

Troopers responded to for a report of an assault between two inmates. The case remains open pending further investigation.
