Ellington Firefighters Respond to Daisy Lane Fire

Chief Michael Varney said that the fire began in a detached outbuilding behind the home at 1 Daisy Ln.

At 5:18 p.m. on Saturday, the Ellington Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 1 Daisy Ln.

Chief Michael Varney said that the fire began in a 20-foot by 40-foot detached outbuilding behind the home. He said that it was fully involved upon arrival and that the fire extended to a very large wood pile and to the woods to the rear of the house.

EVFD firefighters used all of their major apparatus to contain and extinguish the building, pile of wood, and a woodland fire of about two acres. Varney said that the department was on scene for over three hours.
