Ellington Basketball Coach Faces Drug Charges

Timothy Flint, a coach at Ellington High School, was arrested after a traffic stop in Vernon.

An basketball coach is facing drug charges after a traffic stop in Vernon on Sunday. 

At 8:35 p.m. on Sunday, Timothy Flint, 25, of 31 Village Street, Vernon was stopped for a rear light violation on his vehicle, police said. 

Flint is the freshmen team coach and is an assistant coach for the varsity team.

Police said Flint was found with suspected marijuana. In addition to the tail light violation, he was charged with drug possession, the use of drug paraphernalia, and possessing drugs near a school, police said. 

Flint had a $2,500 bond assigned and is due in court April 26.

Because it is vacation week in Ellington, no one could be reached for comment at the high school. Ellington Superintendent of Schools Stephen Cullinan said he had no knowledge of the arrest and no comment.
