Ellington-Somers Police Blotter: March 18-March 24

March 18

A motor vehicle accident on Interstate 84 east in Manchester sent an Ellington woman to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Kathryn Walker, 50, of 3 Maplewood Drive, Ellington, was driving along the interstate with her passenger, Chelsea M. Desroches, 19, of 6 Gulf Road, Stafford Springs, in the left lane when their vehicle was struck by another car that had lost control while traveling in the middle lane. The vehicle, driven by Jennifer Bregoli, 38, of 79 Brooklyn St., Vernon, struck Walker’s car before sending both vehicles into the guardrail. Walker was taken to Manchester Hospital for evaluation.

Michael J. Thon, 45, of 163 Battle St., Somers, was arrested and charged with breach of peace, risk of injury to a minor and third-degree assault for dragging a 14-year-old boy across a restaurant’s parking lot. The boy sustained minor injuries.

March 20

Ian Gregory Krach, 20, of Longmeadow, MA, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. During a motor vehicle stop on Woods Road police noticed the passenger, Krach, display “furtive movement.” The trooper asked the occupants whether they had any illegal substances in the car. Krach gave the trooper a clear, plastic baggy with a greenish-brown plant inside.

March 22

A 17-year-old Somers resident has been charged with third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny for breaking into the Somers Little League building. The unidentified youthful offender turned himself into state police Troop C in Tolland.

March 23

A 17-year-old youthful offender has been charged with possession of marijuana and failure to have the license plate of his car illuminated. State police troopers pulled a vehicle being driven by the unidentified man over for a routine traffic stop. The trooper could small marijuana inside the car and asked the man if he had any illegal substances in the vehicle. The man handed the trooper a small bag with a green-leafy substance and told the trooper it was marijuana. The man was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Tolland Superior Court in Rockville on April 13.
