Ellington-Somers Police Blotter: April 1 - April 6

The following arrest reports, provided by Connecticut State Police Troop C in Tolland, are accurate as of April 1, 2011. Items on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions. It is not the policy of Ellington-Somers Patch to omit any misdemeanors.

April 1

James C. Ducket, 38, of 110 Long Hill Dr., Somers, was charged with disorderly conduct. He was released on a $500 bond and was scheduled to appear in Tolland County Superior Court in Rockville on April 1.

Brittney Arruda, 22, of 51 Stafford St., Stafford Springs, was traveling east on Route 190 in Somers the afternoon of April 1 when she lost control of her car, crossed the double-yellow line stopped when the car hit the embankment. Arruda was not injured in the single car crash, however she was cited for traveling too fast for conditions.

April 3

Erin Schuster, 31, of Manchester, was traveling north on Route 83 near Hampton Road in Somers when she lost control of her vehicle and struck the wire rope guardrail and wooden posts. Schuster was not injured and police are investigating the accident.

Police are investigating a complaint that someone stole a Sirius satellite radio from an unlocked vehicle in the parking lot of Mickey Finn's on Route 190 in Somers. 

April 4

Molly Regan, 27, of 41 Four Bridges Rd., Somers, was traveling west on Vision Boulevard, while Nancy Pisieczko, 47, of 159 Durkee Rd., Somers, was traveling east along the same road. According to police, Pisieczko was attempting to make a right hand turn and collided with Regan’s vehicle. No one was injured. Police are investigating the accident.

April 5

Danielle M. Haun, 27, of 304 Jobs Hill Rd., Ellington, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to obey the posted speed limit.

Antonio Perez, 22, who was being held at the MacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution, was charged with being a fugitive from justice. He was held on a $75,000 bond and appeared in Tolland County Superior Court in Rockville on April 5.

Police are investigating a report by a woman that her pocketbook had been taken from her unlocked vehicle at 6 Jolly Rd., Ellington. (Editor's note: the name of the town was incorrect and was changed to the correct location on April 11)

April 6

Police are investigating a complaint from a 31-year-old Enfield man that an unknown person assaulted him on Main Street in Somers. Witnesses are asked to call Trooper Wright at the Tolland State Police Barracks 860-896-3222.

John J. Ferla, 45, of 323 Somers Rd., Ellington, was charged with risk of injury to a minor and fourth-degree sexual assault involving an 11-year-old female. Ferla was transferred from the Hartford Correctional Center, where he was being held at the time of his arrest, to Tolland County Superior Court in Rockville and held on a $40,000 bond.

Sherman Manson, 47, of New Haven, was charged with assaulting a public safety officer while at the Northern Correctional Institution. He appeared in Tolland County Superior Court in Rockville on April 6 and was held on a $50,000 bond.
