2 Sent to Hospital in Osborn Correctional Assault

A Department of Correction (DOC) official said that the incident was between two cell mates.

An assault on an inmate at the Saturday morning sent both the victim and the assailant to the hospital.

According to Brian Garnett, Director of External Affairs for the Department of Correction (DOC), at about 7 a.m. on Saturday, a correctional officer in one of the housing units responded to the sound of breaking glass.

Upon investigation, he found that an inmate had “seriously assaulted” his cell mate, Garnett said.
