Ice Cream Shops Serve Up Tasty Treats

It's going to be another hot week. Check out one of these local shops and cool off with a cone or sundae.

Concrete Factory located in Ashford is a personal favorite. The stand serves up rich and creamy frozen custard. Ice cream is homemade and flavors change often. Try a "concrete" which is super thick and yummy.

in Enfield is a favorite with the locals. On a hot summer day the lines are long but it's worth the wait. Twenty flavors of ice cream are offered daily. Try Cow Tippin, it's delicous.

in Storrs is a wonderful place to take the whole family. Enjoy a cup of Jonathon Supreme or Husky Tracks. Seasonal flavors of Peach and coconut are now available. After you've finished eating, visit the cows and horses.

located in Ellington is paradise for soft serve lovers. At least 24 flavors of soft serve are always available. Pick up some locally grown fresh fruits and veggies while you there.

American Creamery in Tolland offers a variety of hard ice cream flavors, as well as soft serve. Sundaes and milk shakes are also available. Prices are reasonable and portions are plentiful.

"We-Like-It" in the great metropolis of Abington is well worth the drive! Home made, tasty, multiple flavor choices.... take Route 44, make a right at the light onto Rt. 97. - about a mile on left (maybe it is "We-Lik-It" - either way- GO!

Love Dzen's in Ellington and "We-Lik-It" in Abington! For those venturing to Ellington -- be careful of the rotary construction taking place right out front. But don't let it deter you from going! I"m going to have to try Burke Ridge Farms ice cream :-)
