Somers Historical Museum Open October 12, 2013
The Somers Historical Museum will open Saturday, October 12 with some new displays from our clothing collection. Featured is a white wedding traveling dress and coat from around 1898. Made in New York City, it was the height of Victorian fashion at the time. The wool fabrics and office invoices display from the Somersville Mfg. Co. reveal a part of Somersville's history.Old books, photographs, glass bottles and jewelry can be found for sale in an effort to reduce the inventory storage problem at the museum.
