 YMCA TO HOLD AMERICAN RED CROSS LIFE GUARDING CERTFICATION CLASS


Ellington- the Indian Valley Family YMCA facility in Ellington will be a Life Guarding Certification Class, which will start in January 2013. 


Ever wanted to learn the skills to save a life? With our YMCA and American Red Cross lifeguard certification courses you can do just that. Participants will learn life guarding skills, how to perform CPR on an adult, child and infant, how to use an AED, and necessary first-aid skills.


This six week class, to be held in the Y’s Aquatics Cener in Ellington, runs January 7-February 13. For more detailed information or to register, contact the Y at 860-871-0008 or www.indianvalleyfamily.org


Upon successful completion of the course the participant will be certified in:



  • YMCA or American Red Cross Life guarding

  • American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer American Red Cross 

  • Basic First Aid and Oxygen Administration


Cost: Y facility members: $295.00, Program members: $335 Some financial assistance available for those who qualify.
