Dr. Uke and the Glastonbury Ukulele Band at Ellington Farmers. Market

Dr. Uke and the Glastonbury Ukulele Club will be performing
at the Ellington Farmers’ Market on Saturday June 14th from
9:30-11:30.  This popular group, led by
Dr. Jim Rosokoff (AKA "Dr. Uke"), a retired Glastonbury
dermatologist, play popular songs from many eras.   Audiences
have enjoyed singing along to typical ukulele fare like “You Are My Sunshine”
and “Five Foot Two.” Other songs are less readily associated with the ukulele,
such as “Smoke Gets In Your Eyes,” “Why Do Fools Fall In Love,” and “Who Put
the Bomp (in the Bomp-Ba-Bomp-Ba-Bomp).” Many genres of music are "on the
table" for the band, including jazz, folk, rock, Elvis, Beatles, show
tunes, and even Yiddish songs.
