In celebration of the Eighth Annual National Soup Swap Day,
Ellington Farmers' Market will host a Soup Swap on Friday Jan 24th from 4-6 PM
at the Winter Market. All you have to do
is cook up a pot of your favorite soup and bring a quart - either fresh or
frozen - to the market. Please put the
name of your soup and a list of ingredients on the container. Quart deli containers or mason jars work
well. Check out the other soups and swap
it for one that strikes your fancy or you think will warm the depths of your
winter soul! Your participation helps to
create community by bringing people together through food, and could be the
start of swappers continuing to gather beyond Soup Swap Day. Help spread the
word about this fun event. Phone your
friends and neighbors, send a few emails or tweets and join the swap! Believe in...the masterpieces that everyday
people can create; warm, tasty liquids on a freezing cold day; and the power of
soup!
