Say goodbye to 12 senior Knights

The Ellington/Somers Knights Football Boosters proudly announce the 2013 Senior Day will be held this Saturday November 23, 2013 @ 1:30 pm at the football field located directly behind Ellington high School. This year’s senior day opponent will be arch rival Avon High School. Elllington Somers was undefeated 10-0 in the 2011 season  claiming the league title. Avon rebounded with an undefeated season in 2012 resulting in a division championship. Many of the seniors on bth squads have played in the past three contests and Saturdays matchup promises to be another hard fought battle. 

Avon features multi-sport star runner Jimmy Murphy , while Ellington will counter with Joe Leslie who moves from quarterback to running throughout the game. Both teams feature stiff defenses and retain hopes of a league title.

Ellington will say goodbye to 12 seniors. Senior Players and Parents will be presented before the contest begins. This group of seniors have recorded some the highest win totals in team history. They have participated in consecutive seasons in the State playoffs and have a league championship in 2011 to remember. The Boosters ask that you come out to Ellington High and wish our senior leaders well.

As always the game will feature a full concession stand and grill, various items of interest for the younger fans, including newest team members Bubba and Tiny, and of course the Ellington Volunteer fire department and the touchdown cannon will be on stand bye awaiting the Knights next score. All in all it is a great day to get out and enjoy a very competitive football game, connect with old friends and cheer on the departing senior class. Get there early all kids 12 and under will receive a FREE "Go Knights" finger (while supplies last).  We hope to see you at kickoff, 1:30pm at Ellington High.
