Wilderness Lake Offers a Camping Retreat Without the Drive

It's just off Route 32 in Willington.

So you want to go camping but do not really want to travel.

Well, there's a little piece of Willington that's just right - Wilderness Lake Campground.

The campground is clean, spacious and there is a lot to do - like swimming, horse shoes, volleyball and mini-golf. The lake has free canoes and kayaks and there is even a playground for kids.

There are plenty of tent ties - from $30 a night and sites with hookups from $45 per night.

But the nice thing about Wilderness Lake is how close it is - four exits off Interstate-84 from VernonCenter, two exits from the center of Tolland and about 20 minutes from Ellington and Mansfield.

It's right off Route 32 at 150 Village Hill Rd.

It's a whole different world when you get there. It can even be 10 degrees cooler at night.
