What is This Building?

The historical societies dig into the archives.

What was this building?

Here's a hint, it's in Somers.

If you think you know the answer, respond in the "Leave a comment" box below this article. We'll run the answer next Tuesday, along with a new historical photo.

The image has been provided by the Somers Historical Society.

Last week's question was "" and there was a correct guess that it stood where the current Mobil station is.

According to Images of America: Somers, from the Somers Historical Society says:

"The Fuller-Bugbee house, originally a tavern, stands on the southwest corner of the Route 83 and Route 190 intersection. The Masonic order met in the third-floor ballroom. The lower front rooms served as town offices before the construction of the present town hall. The building was razed in the early 1950s and replaced with a gasoline station."
