Patch.com is a local, daily, online news source where people can get all the information they need on what is going on in their community.

This site will be devoted to covering Ellington and Somers and everything that is going on in those towns. Whether it is breaking news, a town council meeting, or a high school sporting event, Patch.com will be there.

If there's something going on that you want us to cover, let us know. What's important to you is important to us. We welcome and very much encourage community involvement on this site. This is after all, your town too! There will be interactive portions of the site and additionally, we always welcome tips, story ideas, and user generated content like photos.

I grew up in Ellington and still live in Ellington so I know the town and its people very well. I know what is important and what people are passionate about. Having lived in Ellington my whole life, I am also very familiar with the town of Somers and what is important to people in town.

In addition to living in the area my whole life, I also covered Ellington and Somers for the Journal Inquirer so I am familiar with the major players and issues in the towns.

Our goal is to provide the best coverage possible for the towns that we live in and love. These towns don't always receive adequate coverage from other local media outlets so our mission is to make sure that we're always there. We want to provide the most comprehensive coverage around.
