VIDEO: Cleaning Up After Alfred in Ellington and Somers

Ellington and Somers residents settle into doing yard work after snowstorm.

Winter storm Alfred left a couple inches to almost 2-feet of snow in places in Connecticut and the untimely snowstorm caught the trees, which hadn't shed their leaves yet, residents and utility companies by surprise.

The weight of the snow was too much for many trees to bare; they fell over and caused massive, longstanding power outtages. Ten days after the storm, some people are still waiting for electricity but many people have resumed their normal routine, which now includes picking up debris and cutting down weakened tree branches.

Patch asked people in Ellington and Somers how the clean-up is going and what they think about Connecticut Light & Power's response to the situation.
