Pellegrini Named 2012 Somers Republican of the Year

Recently, Somers First Selectowman Lisa Pellegrini was honored at the 7th Senatorial District Lincoln Day Dinner as the 2012 Somers Republican of the Year. 

Citing her many accomplishments in just one term as the town’s CEO, David Reed, Chairman of the Somers Republicans, expressed his town’s appreciation for Pellegrini’s work as he presented her with the award - stating that it was with the deepest appreciation that the Somers Republicans recognize her for her exceptional leadership, vision, dedication and devotion that she provides to the Town of Somers and its citizens by naming her the 2012 Republican of the Year.

Over 200 people were present to see Pellegrini’s award presentation, in which Reed gave a short synopsis of the many accomplishments that Pallegrini has achieved. 

Noting her leadership in guiding the town through the emergency, her ”greening” of the town by using solar energy to supplement the town’s , and , the savings she created by careful negotiation of the town’s insurance, pension, and worker’s compensation packages, bringing new sidewalks and lighting to Somersville, and many other undertakings, it was clear to the town that Pellegrini was the right person at the right time to serve as Somers CEO, as evidenced by her successful re-election this past November.

Pellegrini accepted the award, noting that she was honored to serve the town, and that it was the work of many citizens in Somers that made her successful. She pledged to continue to serve to the best of her abilities, and concluded by saying her office is always open to suggestions.
