We've all learned that money doesn't grow on trees. Whether shopping with coupons or looking for two-for-one deals, we're taking advantage of all sorts of offers and savings that help us stretch our dollars.

This week, Frugal Family scoured our local sources to come up with great deals on children's items, books and music, apparel and footwear, bus tickets and happy hour.

These deals will help your family’s bottom line, and since we do the scouting for you, you can save time as well as money.

1. Babies R Us, Toys R Us - Manchester,

Deal: The Presidents' Day four-day sale will provide deals on diapers, toddler mealtime items, gates, furniture and more. Click here for the online coupon.

2. Borders Books and Music -           

Deal: The store is closing so there is an inventory liquidation sale. 

Good through: Until inventory is sold out

3. Bob's Stores -                      

Deal: Mall store brands at deep discounts. Get special buys on apparel and footwear for the family at blowout prices of $4.99 to $19.99. 

Good through: While supplies last

4. Megabus - Storrs, Hartford                                  

Deal: Tickets are widely available for $1 with advance purchase on Megabus between Hartford and New York or Amherst, Mass. Free Wi-fi is offered.

Good through: March 29, 2011

5. The Main Pub Restaurant and Music Club -

Deal: Every drink at the bar is discounted at least a dollar and all appetizers are $5 during happy hour. Happy hour runs every Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
