According to Images of America: Somers, from the Somers Historical Society:

"The Somersville Elementary School, located at 18 School Street, was built in 1933 with Works Progress Administration funding. It replaced the old District No. 6 school, the Spiritualist Hall (razed), and the Legion Hall, which was moved loser to the millpond. The building was sold in 1998 to the privately run Grammar School at Somersville."
