According to Images of America: Somers, from the Somers Historical Society:

"In 1835, Frederick Loomer bought land at the intersection of Maple Street and Pinney Road and built this brownstone blacksmith shop, which he ran until 1860. Later blacksmiths included his son Otis, Henry Rogers, and Lambert Cady. It is now a thrift shop operated by the Somersville Church Ladies Aid."

shady lake in somers, it was fillng up with weeds etc, fancy term is eutrophication, just about due north of dunkin donuts, theres a road//development which roughly follows the southern shore of the area there now

I agree if this is in somers it would be Shady Lake, I remember swimming there as a kid in my teens.

definately shady lake in Somers. many memories of swimming there as a child.

Shady Lake My brother and I had swimming lessons there in earl 1950's. My daughter also had swimming lessons there in in early 1980's.

This is Shady Lake in Somers. Took swimming lessons there as a child.
