According to Images of America: Somers, from the Somers Historical Society:

"Located on perhpas the oldest continuously run farm, this house at 93 Maple Street was built shortly after John Weston bouth land in 1830 from Alpheus Billings and Robert Gowdy. Weston also owned the Wagon Shop across the road. John Tyler owned both properties from 1853 to 1862, when Theodore M. Gowdy (son of Robert Jr.) bought it from the Tyler estate. Gowdy married Jane Billings, daughter of Alpheus Billings, and maintained a large commercial farm. Gowdy was a selectman in Somers for 16 years. The Rockwell Holcomb family bought the property from Theodore's widow in 1915 and ran the farm until it was sold to Henry and Filomena Maturo in 1981."
