Sometimes we should stay home

Buddy the Wondermutt questions the trend of humans taking their canines to places they shouldn't

I love my human. I enjoy watching the picture box with him, taking walks where I lead him around, and even going for rides in the big cage with wheels.

My human takes me many places, but there are some places where we canines simply do not belong.

A case in point is my friend Tyson, a three-year-old Rottweiler. Tyson is very friendly toward humans, normally. But the other day during one of our sniffing sessions, he told he that his humans took him inside a department store.

Tyson said that he felt very uncomfortable with all the strange humans around, and sensed fear from many. His worry was that he might get aggressive toward a human, or even have his ears pulled by a human pup, and his instinct to protect himself lead to a trip to ‘the farm.’

It’s true that we canines are great companions, but there are times and places that we should be left at home. Human stores are one such example. We canines get very confused by all of the various scents and emotions thrown off by you when confronted by a canine like Tyson, or others.

And this ridiculous trend that some humans demonstrate by toting around smaller breeds of canine should stop. They are not a fashion accessory, contrary to whatever you are told.

There are human stores that allow service animals, those that guide the blind humans or others with handicaps, but taking your canine into stores that are not for us is putting yourselves at risk for injury to a human, and resulting in a trip to ‘the farm’ for us.

Humans, please. Use the sense the Creator gave you and think about the places you take us.

I have to go now. It’s time to lead my human around on his daily walk.
